If a person is lack of food, the body inform him with a mild signal known as Hunger. If a person is lack of oxygen, the body inform him with a strong signal Dyspnea. But as our body does not consider hair as an important one, it never inform us even with a very mild signal about Hair Loss. We have to watch and take care of it if we want.

Actually hair is the growth of dead cells coming out of our skin. When we become sick, our body fights with many microbes and the dead cells will be more and the hair growth will also be more. But this is occasional. Usual case is the growth of hair with replacement of old cells with the new and there are several internal and external threats to normal hair growth.

Internal threats to hair growth are Lack of Nutrients, Hormonal Imbalance, Mental & Lifestyle related Issues, Medications, and Genetic Reasons. These threats arise naturally or given as input by onsself but works from inside his body. External Threats are Harsh Chemicals, Rough Handling, Polution by Water & Air, Excess Oils. These threats may or may not arise by the person himself and works externally in the skin and in hair roots.

Even though hair is not a living part of us, it is not going to grow like a tree with essential nutrients, it also need certain vitamins and minerals as nutrients. Protein given structure to the Hair, Iron is necessary to supply oxygen to Hair follicles, Omega 3 Fatty acids are necessary to maintain a good scalp, Biotin is required to have a resilient hair, Melanin is required to maintain hair colour.

Not only dry skin leads to Dandruff, but excess oily skin also leads to increased production of sebum further leading to Seborrheic Dermatitis type of dandruff. This can also happen due to weakened immunity or overgrowth of yeast. All happening in the body are connected together when upon considering about hair growth.

Regarding nutrients for hair growth Iron, Protein, Biotin, C-Melanin, U-Melanin, Vitamins, and Minerals are doing their own part of growing a good hair. If a person is having mental issues like stress, anxiety then it can leads to harmonal imbalance and also hair loss.

When one of our ancient Tamil Poet Pisiranthaiyar was asked for not even having a single white hair at old age, he replied that he is having a good king to protect, having good nutrients to eat, having a good family to take care of him mentally, So no chances to have a white hair. So, threats to hair growth can be nutritional, mental issues mainly along with modern day threats like pollution and chemicals.
